Shaboozey has been given a surprise gift during his recent Nashville performance, being presented with his official plaque to mark his entry into Spotify’s Billions Club.

The special award took place during Shaboozey’s appearance at Spotify House in Nashville as part of CMA Fest on Saturday, June 7, with his set featuring a special guest joining him; Chief Public Affairs Officer Dustee Jenkins.

“I know that you all waited in line for a long time to get in here,” said Jenkins, ahead of Shaboozey’s rendition of his chart-topping hit, A Bar Song (Tipsy). “We're very excited and to make the night extra special.”

“I don't know if you know this, but there's a rarefied club at Spotify, it is called the Billions Club.” she added. “In order to get into the Billions Club, your song has to have a billion streams.”

In fact, Shaboozey did know this, because his song was officially inducted into the club on Christmas 2024, going so far as to label it the “Best Christmas gift ever.” However, one thing he didn’t find under the tree was a plaque to mark the occasion.

As Jenkins said, the track has now exceeded 1.3 billion plays on the streamer, necessitating his nascent award of a special plaque which celebrates his achievement. Countrytown was there in Nashville and captured Shaboozey’s gratitude-filled comments after receiving the award.

“Last year, when the song came out, I remember getting a a plaque upstairs for going Platinum,” he remembered. “The fact that you guys show me how much… how you guys accepted me into Nashville and accepted me into country music as a brother, I love y'all so much.”

Shaboozey then dipped into a performance of the track, which has since topped numerous charts around the world, and breaking numerous records around the world. It also resulted in a handful of Grammy Award nominations, and even a nomination at the APRAs for Most Performed International Work.
