Sara Berki Returns With New Single 'One Hand In The Cookie Jar'

Few artists can pull listeners into a story quite like Sara Berki, and her latest single proves exactly why she's one of Australia's most exciting country voices.

Sara Berki has officially kicked off her 2026 music campaign with the release of her new single, One Hand In The Cookie Jar, marking her first new music of the year.

The release follows a huge start to the year for Berki, who welcomed her first child and received nominations for Female Artist of the Year and New Talent of the Year at the 2026 Golden Guitar Awards. She also delivered a standout performance at CMC Rocks in Ipswich, where she gave fans an early taste of the new track during her Saturday mainstage set.

One Hand In The Cookie Jar sees Berki lean into classic country storytelling, tackling themes of infidelity with a clever and playful twist.

The track follows the story of a partner caught red-handed, blending traditional country influences with a driving band arrangement and Berki's signature storytelling style.

The single was produced by Simon Johnson, who previously collaborated with Berki on her debut EP Heartline as well as fan favourites Drinking For Free and Tear You Apart.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Berki said, "This is a song that I started over a year ago and it has always received a great reaction in the live shows. It's a classic cheating song but I wanted it to be a bit clever and not give it away too easily."

"I wrote it with sharp imagery referencing Chanel No. 5 perfume on his collar, Pirate Red shaded lipstick through his beard and being caught down at the infamous 'Lee Harvey's' bar in Texas. It's playful, retro and witty."

From the moment the track begins, listeners are swept straight into Berki's vivid storytelling, a skill that has become one of her trademarks since the release of her debut single, Fallin' off the Heartline, in 2022.

With a growing list of accolades and a rapidly expanding international audience, Berki's latest release signals another major chapter in what is already shaping up to be a career-defining year.
