Fast-rising country artist Robbie Mortimer is gearing up to drop his shining new single, Blow The Speakers – but ahead of its arrival later this month, the Orange-native stalwart has been announced as the feature artist for this year’s Monster Energy Tour.
Presented by the Australian arm of the Professional Bull Rider’s Association (PBR), Mortimer’s stint on the tour will start in Brisbane (Meanjin) on Saturday June 8. He’ll roll on down with it to Newcastle (Awakabal) on Saturday June 22, then head north again for an event in Cairns (Yirrganydji) on Saturday July 13, then Tamworth (Kamilaroi) on Saturday October 26, and finally Townsville (Gurrumbilbarra) on Saturday November 2.

The news follow’s Mortimer’s hot streak at the 2023 Tamworth Country Music Festival, where he was named a finalist in the prestigious Toyota Star Maker contest. And of course it precedes the release of Blow The Speakers, which is set to hit all major streaming platforms next Friday (March 22). It’ll be his first official release in nearly three-and-a-half years, following up on his debut album 200 Years Too Late (which arrived in November of 2021).
In a press statement, Lola Major – PBR Australia’s talent manager – said of how Mortimer is perfectly suited to headline this year’s Monster Energy Tour: “We are all really passionate about country music. Robbie first caught our eye at Winton Way Out West Fest presented by PBR last year and not only did he wow us with his incredible, powerful performance and authentic connection with the audience but also his extraordinary work ethic.
“He immediately felt like part of our team and we all just wanted him around more. It’s been a pleasure to work with him on the PBR Monster Energy tour and we are excited to have him back in 2024!”

The excitement was shared by Mortimer himself, who said in a statement of his own: “I am thrilled and honoured to have been invited back on the PBR Monster Energy tour. PBR has given me the opportunity to perform to sold out arenas across Australia and sing my songs to thousands of people. The atmosphere is electric, the fans love their country music. Not only am I loving performing, but I am now a fanatic follower of the sport.”
