Country star Riley Green is about to trade honky tonks for halftime as he headlines the Broncos v Eels clash at Suncorp Stadium on Thursday, 12 March.

The Brisbane Broncos have confirmed Green will take to the field during Round 2 against the Parramatta Eels, marking his first-ever stadium performance in Australia.

Fans can expect an intimate acoustic set featuring two of his biggest hits, including viral favourite Worst Way, transforming one of the country’s most iconic sporting arenas into a singalong moment before Green heads to Melbourne the next night to launch his Cowboy As It Gets Tour.

Green has become one of modern country’s biggest names, thanks to tracks like There Was This Girl, I Wish Grandpas Never Died and Change My Mind. With millions of streams and headline festival slots under his belt, he’s built a reputation for live shows that feel personal, even in massive spaces.

“I’m stoked to be heading back to Australia and now playing my first stadium down under at Suncorp. Last time I was in Brisbane, it was pretty cool to have Patty Carrigan come to my show so I thought I’d come to his place this time.” says Green

“We’ve been working closely with the Broncos to make this happen, and I couldn’t be more excited. I’m really looking forward to watching the game too, I hear the atmosphere is pretty nuts, I can’t wait to learn a thing or two about rugby league.”

The halftime performance also kickstarts Green’s Australian run, including Melbourne and Sydney dates before he headlines CMC Rocks Queensland.

Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy says the feeling is mutual.

“We can’t wait to welcome Riley and his crew to Suncorp – so many of our fans are his fans. His music, charisma, and genuine connection with people are exactly what they love, and he’s such a natural fit with the Broncos.”

“Having him perform at Thursday night footy will make this one of the biggest and most memorable games of the year - a truly special experience people won’t forget.”

Tickets are still available, but probably not for much longer.
