Singer-songwriter, RaeLynn has announced she’s coming out with her first children’s book, Raisin’ Me A Country Girl, inspired by her song of the same name. The book, which includes illustrations by Noëlle Paramo, is about a little girl named Daisy in honour of her own daughter, Daisy Rae.
According to the website, “In the story, Daisy can't wait for her cousins to arrive for tea but when Daisy realises that her sweet Pup Pup is gone, she sets off on the farm to ask all her farm friends for help. When the hunt for Pup Pup is over and Daisy finds her sweet pup, she realises her new dress is covered in mud. How will her cousins dressed in their fancy dresses respond to Daisy being covered in mud for their tea party?”
Raisin’ Me A Country Girl will begin shipping in mid-July and is currently available for pre-order with options of being signed and personalised. It retails from $19.99 USD.

RaeLynn and her husband, Joshua Davis, welcomed Daisy Rae on September 8, 2021. She is the first and currently only child for the couple who married in February 2016.
Raisin’ Me A Country Girl is the lead single from RaeLynn’s forthcoming third album, Funny Girl. Set for release in August 2023, it follows the breakthrough Baytown and debut WildHorse.
“I wrote Raisin’ Me A Country Girl when I was 8 months pregnant with a guy named Will Bundy and Rhett Akins,” RaeLynn said. “I had this idea for this song because growing up I was the kid in a sundress, my hair in pigtails, playing in the sandbox, playing in the dirt, with my Barbie jeep, drinking out of a water hose, doing all the things. I was a little country, redneck kid.
“When I was thinking about a love letter to Daisy, I hoped to be raising a country girl. I want her to be tough, I want her to be sweet, I want her to be confident. I want her to love Jesus and know that values matter in this world, and have a strong heart for people, and always be a good person, and honestly the things that my parents instilled in me, and I want to instil that in her.”
RaeLynn grew up in Baytown, Texas, just outside of Houston. She was raised in a musical family and always connected to the lyrics of country songs, drawing inspiration from artists like Dolly Parton and Miranda Lambert. She started writing songs at 13-years-old and began learning to play guitar from watching YouTube tutorials. In 2012, she competed on The Voice US on Blake Shelton’s team. That same year, she signed a record label and released her debut single, God Made Girls, in 2014.
