The song, which is her debut track under new label Island Records Australia, comes in the lead up to support slots across Australia with Dean Lewis.

Rachael Fahim has been taking her heartbreaks and turning them into catchy country-pop tunes.
The Sydney-born singer-songwriter has released her newest track, Dance Around It, a song about heartbreak tinged with the hopeless optimism of rose-coloured glasses.
Fahim first teased the song on social media at the start of the week and then followed up yesterday (31st October) with a clip of her singing with an acoustic guitar along to the chorus.

The single dropped this morning, with Fahim further explaining the track’s meaning:
“Dance Around It is a song that not only told my story, but sonically it fits where country music is right now. It’s a song about a situationship where you’re too scared to discuss your feelings for fear it will ruin everything, so you simply Dance around it! I’m so excited to be back with new music and to be touring so extensively.”
According to Fahim, the song narrates her experience with a turbulent COVID-19 relationship that spanned 18 months and involved various no-contact situations.
For Fahim, the shift into more vulnerable territories is something she has been easing into, “When I first started performing my new material live, it was exciting and embarrassing; I’d introduce a bunch of sad and savage songs, and only one love song, all about the same guy, so I guess it makes sense that relationship ended. “
The song marks a new chapter for Fahim, who is debuting her chops with new label Island Records after a nearly nine-year chapter with Top Dog Recordings. Rachael has also been busy on the road as of late, supporting recent The Music cover artist Dean Lewis through a mammoth 12-date tour of Australia.
Having rocked out at Riverstage in Brisbane on the night of Halloween, Fahim and Lewis are yet to head South for the weekend, playing a double bill at Sydney’s ICC Theatre. Tickets are available via Ticketek.
Fahim will also be performing her own headlining tour for Dance Around It in January, touring Australia with support from Missy Lancaster. Tickets for Fahim’s headline shows are available here.
