Rachael FahimRachael Fahim is officially stepping into her album era. The singer-songwriter has announced Who You Are, her first full length record through Island Records Australia, set for release on Friday May 1.
Alongside the album news, Fahim has dropped a brand-new single Never Coming Back which opens the record and sets the tone for what’s to come.
Written across Nashville, Los Angeles and Sydney, Who You Are brings together ten raw, sing-it-out-loud tracks pulled straight from Fahim’s real life. The album includes fan favourites and radio hits like Dance Around It, Good Luck, Who You Are and the #1 Australian Country Radio single Too Damn Hot, which helped cement Fahim as one of the most exciting crossover voices in country-pop right now.
As the album opener Never Coming Back marks a clear emotional turning point. Fahim describes it as her “emotional whiplash” and “realisation song”.
“It’s about that moment when you realise you aren’t heartbroken anymore. It captures the power shift when self-respect kicks in, the late-night calls stop working, and closure comes (with a side of sass of course hehe) It’s defiant, healed and rooted in the clarity that sometimes the best comeback is no comeback at all - it’s just leaving,” she says.
The album tracks a relationship that moved from all-consuming love to heartbreak and healing, touching on the highs and lows of love, identity and self-worth.
