Presenters & Final Performers Announced For 2022 Golden Guitar Awards

There’s less than a week until the Toyota 50th Golden Guitar Awards kick off in Tamworth – and the Country Music Association of Australia Inc (CMAA) have announced the final performers and presenters taking to the stage on Wednesday, April 20.

For the past forty-nine years, the Golden Guitar Awards have celebrated the best of Australian country music released over the course of the previous 12-months and Tamworth Regional Council and CMAA are proud to once again award Australia’s best country albums, songs, artists, writers, and producers at the Toyota 50th Golden Guitar Awards. While this event gives us the chance to look back over the past year of great music, it also gives us the opportunity to look forward at the emerging talent which is taking our industry into the future.

This theme will shine through in two special performances to take place at the awards on the night. There will be a special tribute to the legendary Lee Kernaghan, to recognise his illustrious country music career and celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of the iconic, multi-platinum breakthrough album, The Outback Club. The performance will feature The Wolfe Brothers, Catherine Britt, Christie Lamb and James Johnston, artists that Lee has inspired and nurtured throughout his career and highlights the spirit of developing new and emerging talent which is a strong part of the country music community.

Amy Sheppard will make her debut appearance at the Toyota 50th Golden Guitar Awards when she joins The Wolfe Brothers to perform Something Good’s Gonna Happen from their fifth-studio album Kids on Cassette. Amy is one third of the multi-platinum selling band Sheppard and is a Golden Guitar Award winner for her part on the 2016 ‘Vocal Collaboration of the Year’ winning song Spirit of the Anzacs with Lee Kernaghan.

They join previously announced performers including 37-time Golden Guitar and 2021 ARIA Award winner Troy Cassar-Daley, multi-award winners Shane Nicholson and Adam Harvey, as well as Angus Gill, Ashleigh Dallas, Felicity Urquhart and Josh Cunningham, The Weeping Willows, Sammy White, Cass Hopetoun, Camille Trail, Darlinghurst and Raechel Whitchurch.

The coveted Roll of Renown, country music’s hall of fame, will be announced and presented on the night. The Roll recognises and salutes those artists who have made a lasting and significant contribution to Australian country music and is one of the most prestigious industry awards.

Multi-Golden Guitar, ARIA, and APRA Award winner Lee Kernaghan also heads up a long list of country music stars and industry icons presenting at the Toyota 50th Golden Guitar Awards. Other presenters include country music legends John Williamson, Chad Morgan and Max Ellis, as well as Fanny Lumsden, Felicity Urquhart, Sara Storer, Catherine Britt, Amber Lawrence, Anne Kirkpatrick, Lawrie Minson, Casey Barnes, Andrew Farriss, Kirsty Lee Akers, Jesse Anderson, Andrew Swift, Lyn Bowtell, The Buckleys, Henry Wagons, Lachlan Bryan, Alan Fletcher, Hayley Jensen, Melanie Dyer, Melody Moko, Dan Stanley Freeman, Charley Boyter, 2020 Toyota Star Maker winner Sammy White, plus Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson, Toyota’s Tim Stuckey and CMAA’s Meryl Davis.

Tamworth Regional Council and the CMAA will present the 2022 Toyota 50th Golden Guitar Awards live on Wednesday, 20 April 2022, from Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre and live-streamed via the festival website.
