NQ’s Rock’n Country Music Festival brings together the best of Australia’s country rock national and local artists for a massive three-day festival.

The festival shared on social media, “Drumroll please! Are you ready for the first round of artists?! We know you've been patiently waiting and asking, and we couldn't contain our excitement any longer!”

Set to go ahead on August 18-20 at the Mackay Showgrounds, the first line up announcement includes Troy Cassar-Daley, Kasey Chambers, Shannon Noll, The Wolfe Brothers, Kaylee Bell, Adam Brand, Southbound xo, Andrew Swift, Catherine Britt and Christie Lamb.

More artists will be announced in the coming months.

Speaking of the festival, Graeme Connors said, “This is the basis, the cement footings for a fantastic festival in Mackay. It is up there with any of them, if not surpassing.”

Proudly raising funds for Variety – the Children’s Charity, which supports kids and families who are facing challenges through sickness, disadvantage or living with a disability, the action-packed festival is a one-stop party for the entire family with on-site camping and activities for all to enjoy.

The brains behind NQ’s Rock’n Country is local Mackay businessman Geoff Baguley, a determined country music fan who believes it shouldn’t be the case that there are no major country festivals in the north. “Country music is getting bigger and bigger all the time, and us North Queenslanders want to see Australia’s best acts without having to travel south."

The 2022 NQ’s Rock’n Country Music Festival saw the likes of Lee Kernaghan, Gina Jeffreys, Tania Kernaghan and Graeme Connors, along with Adam Harvey, Fanny Lumsden, Shane Nicolson, Sara Storer, James Blundell, Christie Lamb, The Hillbilly Goats, Jody Direen, Raechel Whitchurch, Luke Geiger, Brooke Schubert, Linc Phelps, Cass Hopetoun, Sammy White, Josh Setterfield, Keely Johnson, Tommy Contor, Lloyd Saunders, Zoe McLellan, Alyssa Brache and Route 33 take the stage.
