'My Worst Nightmare': Megan Moroney Ends Denver Show Early Due To Illness

Megan Moroney has been forced to do something she’s never done before, and face her worst nightmare, by ending a show early due to illness.

On Tuesday (28 July), the Tennessee Orange hitmaker brought her Cloud 9 tour to Ball Arena in Denver. While she did her best to perform while feeling sick, Moroney was forced to end her show after performing just three songs.

According to setlist.fm and footage shared by fans, Moroney paused the show and addressed the audience after performing three songs: Stupid, Medicine, and Bless Your Heart.

“This is obviously the last thing I ever want to do, but I am obviously extremely sick, and I thought I did everything to make myself better,” she said.

She continued, “I just can’t play this show tonight, but I will make it up to you guys. I absolutely promise I’ll be back. I’ll be able to come, but I want to give you guys the show you deserve, and I’m probably going to go cry in my dressing room now.”

After fans shared their appreciation for the singer, Moroney became emotional. “But I’m sorry. This is like my worst nightmare, and I promise I’ll make it up to you guys like 10 times,” she told the audience.

“I love you, and I’m really sorry. We’re going to work out the details, and I’ll give you all the information as soon as I can. And I’m really sorry, so love you guys.”

Moroney then departed the stage. Later on, she took to her Instagram Stories and described concluding the show early as “the hardest decision” she’s had to make. Additionally, she revealed that a Denver show had been rescheduled for Thursday, 27 August.

She wrote:

That was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make & I’m so sorry to cancel the show tonight.

 

I never ever will give you guys a show that is not 100% and by song 3 I knew that I was not capable of giving that to you tonight. I’m typing this as I’m quite literally bawling my eyes out in my dressing room & it hurts me so much to disappoint you all.

 

I will be back August 27, and all tickets purchased for tonight’s show will be honored for the new date. If you can’t make the rescheduled date refunds are available at the point of purchase.

 

I’ve never had to do this & I’m truly so sorry.
