'Country And The Coast Side A' was released in October 2021
Australian-born, Nashville-based country music superstar, Morgan Evans is currently working on The Country And The Coast Side B.
Speaking with Entertainment Focus, he said, “We are working on the Coast side right now, as it happens. After this, I am going into the studio to record some songs for that.”
He added The Country and The Coast plays with the duality of his upbringing in Newcastle, NSW.
He said, “I do feel like there is a duality to me, definitely two sides. I grew up in the bush in Australia, but we also lived near the beach too. Some of my favourite things to do were to climb trees, ride horses and play in the mud with my brother but I also loved to go surfing at the weekends with my mates too.”
Evans is returning to Australia to playing a string of shows with Brad Paisley in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne this September-October – which includes an appearance at CMC Rocks QLD.
Speaking of the tour, he added, “I’ve, maybe, been on the same day at a festival as him before but I’ve never played specific shows with him before. He’s one of the guys that I really loved in the early 2000’s, growing up in Australia, obsessed with country music.

The guitar playing on some of those records, the lyrics, oh man, he was a major influence on me and a big part of making me fall in love with what was going on in Nashville. This feels like a big deal for me to be going out with him.”
Following his Road To Tamworth win in 2007, which included flying to Nashville to record a single, Evans dropped his debut EP Big Skies later that same year. In 2012, he released his second and third EPs, Live Each Day and While We’re Young, respectively. The following year, he was named ‘New Oz Artist of the Year’ at the 2013 CMC Awards.
After supporting artists like Taylor Swift and Thirsty Merc, Evans released his self-titled debut studio album in 2014, which peaked at number 20 on the ARIA Albums Chart, and won a further three CMC Awards including the coveted ‘Oz Artist Of The Year’.
He moved to Nashville in 2016, which led to the release of his debut US hit single, Kiss Somebody. He also topped the charts with fan favourite track, Day Drunk, which spent 25 weeks in the coveted #1 spot in Australia. Both tracks hail from his 2018 self-titled EP and his ARIA Award winning studio album, Things That We Drink To.
He released his latest EP, Country And The Coast Side A, on October 29, 2021. The six-track EP features his current single, Country Outta My Girl as well as Love Is Real, which spent six consecutive weeks at the top of the Countrytown Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart.
Country Outta My Girl currently sits at #4 on the Countrytown Hot 50 Chart. He also released a reimagined version of the song featuring Weezer‘s Rivers Cuomo.
