Morgan Evans is stepping back into the spotlight, louder and prouder than ever before. With  his roots firmly on the ground and a fresh partnership with Virgin Music Group, Evans is kicking off the next chapter of his career with his sophomore studio album Steel Town due out on March 20, 2026.

Today Evans has dropped the first single from the project, Beer Back Home.

The track was recorded in Nashville and co-produced by Evans alongside a longtime collaborator Todd Clark. It’s a nostalgic anthem built for long highway drives, summer nights, and will help soothe that homesick feeling you get even when you’re out there chasing down and living your dreams.

"I had to get outta this town. I needed something real. Old mates, familiar places, and salt water,” says Evans. “I reconnected with where I came from, who I was, who I wanna be. This record is a journey, and it all started with a beer back home."

It’s been two years since we’ve had new music from Evans. Part of those years he has spent in reflection in his Australian hometown, Newcastle. That time away from the hustle and bustle wasn’t a pause, it was a much needed reset and inspiration for this next chapter.

The 11-track album has some exciting collaborations. Laci Kaye Booth - Evans’ partner - features on the track Two Broken Hearts, and William Barton, one of Australia’s most recognised didgeridoo players, will feature on the track Back To Country, which will no doubt be a powerful nod to Australian culture.

Evans is scheduled to perform at Howlin’ Country Festival on February 14, 2026, in Newcastle. It’ll be a full‑band performance, and Evans promises fans a taste of what’s to come from his forthcoming album Steel Town. Evans will be joined by big names such as Lainey Wilson, Treaty Oak Revival and more for what will hands down be a massive party on the Foreshore.
