New South Wales country music fans, get ready: Missy Lancaster (formerly of Southbound xo) is putting on her own music festival in the town of Picton.

The festival, Forever 21 Hoedown Throwdown, will be held at the George IV Inn in Picton. Lancaster headlines the lineup, which also features Brock Rodziewicz, Bianca Joulianau, Carly Mozsny, Braydin Good, and Lasso Lee. The festival poster lists live music, line dancing, and a mechanical bull.

Forever 21 will take place on Saturday, 7 June, from 4:30 pm until late, with doors opening at 4 pm. You can find tickets here.

In a video posted to social media, Lancaster introduced the festival. “I’m Missy Lancaster, and I’m so excited to announce the Forever 21 Hoedown Throwdown – my very own country music festival presented by Out West Country,” she said.

Lancaster continued, “We’ve got an amazing day of country music acts, country music DJs, we’ve got some very special guests, a mechanical bull, line dancing, all things country music, and I will also be announcing the release of my brand new album, Bittersweet.”

You can check out the festival poster and Lancaster’s video about the Hoedown Throwdown below.

In March 2024, Lancaster announced her shock departure from Southbound xo to focus on her solo career. She said at the time, “I wanted to let you know I have decided to leave Southbound XO to pursue my solo career. It’s been an absolute hoot for the last few years, and I wish the girls all the best for the future. I have been working like a mad woman and will have brand new music to share with you all very soon.”

In a separate statement, Lancaster’s bandmates revealed they’d be taking time away “to explore ways to potentially re-boot the band in the future.”
