Melody Moko Appears In New Ad For ‘Parental Guidance’

Melody Moko appears in the new commerical for the return series of Channel 9’s Parental Guidance.

The ground-breaking series first aired in 2021, hosted by journalist and breakfast show morning host, Ally Langdon as well as Dr. Justin Coulson, one of Australia's most trusted parenting experts who has helped innumerable families with his six books about raising children for over the past decade.

According to media week, “This new series has a special focus on raising kids in the digital age, from the rise of influencer parenting to the dark side of online gaming and the internet. The essentials of parenting are also explored in depth, from dealing with tantrums to sibling rivalry and driving kids to succeed. As the 12 sets of parents examine, compare and look at their parenting through fresh eyes, viewers have the chance to reflect, learn and even level up their own parenting.” 

The new advertisement focuses on the Influencer family – two parents and two children.

“We are influencer parents. We use technology to network,” says the Mum in the ad. “Both our children have social media accounts.” The Dad adds, “Our rules around technology are basically non-existent.” They also reveal that one of their children has over 500,000 followers on social media.

You can see Moko briefly roll her eyes and look away in disgust.

The Channel 9 website writes, “In search of Australia's best parenting style, opinionated parents with diverse parenting techniques will take turns assessing each other's style through a series of the toughest challenges ever attempted. They will confront methods that divide opinion, cause spirited debate and will even be uncomfortable for some. Parental Guidance will take us behind the closed family doors of parenthood, and how we ourselves were parented, to find out how to do it right, right now? When it comes to modern-day parenting, is anyone really nailing it?”

In 2022, Moko announced her parenting podcast titled Parenting Done Rightish, alongside Kat Taylor.

She shared the news on social media, captioning, “bringing you the wailing, failing and nailing of parenting with “parenting done rightish” coming atcha soon! I love projects… and I wanted to tell you about one that I have coming up, which I’m so excited about. It is a podcast on one of my very favourite subjects – parenting.”

Moko shares three children with her producer/instrumentalist husband, Michael Moko – their youngest Maisy, was born in March 2021.
