Melody MokoAustralian country artist Melody Moko is officially adding “radio host” to her resume, joining ABC Country as the new voice of Saturday Night Country.
Her first show will air Saturday 7 March from 9pm AEDT across ABC Country and ABC Radio, marking a new chapter for the long running program as it continues its 30-year legacy spotlighting Australian country music.
Moko isn’t exactly new to storytelling. Across her career, she’s built a reputation for candid songwriting and emotionally intelligent lyrics, while also carving out space as an advocate for women, gender diverse and emerging artists.
Offstage, she mentors rising talent as a Group Leader at the CMAA Academy of Country Music, hosts the podcasts Parenting Done Rightish and Woman Enough, and has performed everywhere from the Golden Guitar Awards to Americana Fest in Nashville. She’s also toured alongside heavyweights including Don Walker, Troy Cassar-Daley and Fanny Lumsden.
Now, she’s taking on one of country radio’s most beloved roles.

Beccy’s boots are some big ones to fill, and I look forward to strapping on my own version of them and doing her proud. Saturday Night Country has a huge legacy, I hope to honour that and I'm excited to be offered the chance to share my love for the show, and country music with the listeners.”
She steps into the slot following the final broadcast from longtime host Beccy Cole on February 28.
Throughout 2026, Saturday Night Country will continue championing the full spectrum of the genre, from emerging regional voices to established icons, while also spotlighting standout international acts.
For Moko, it’s less about replacing a legacy and more about carrying it forward with warmth, lived experience and a genuine love of the music that shaped her.
