Luke Combs tops 2020 ARIA Country Albums Charts

The 2020 ARIA Charts have been released, with Luke Combs, ARIA Award winner Keith Urban, Morgan Wallen and Dolly Parton taking out the Top 5.

While 2020 may have been an awful year for many of us, it wasn’t lacking in the release of great music!

The 2020 ARIA Charts have been released, with Luke Combs topping the country album releases, taking out the two top spots for the deluxe edition of What You See Is What You Get and This One’s For You. ARIA Award winner Keith Urban is the highest charting Australian artist on the list with his 11th album, The Speed of Now Part 1 coming in third.

After smashing streaming records for Dangerous: The Double Album, Morgan Wallen’s week just keeps getting better with his debut album, If I Know Me sitting at fourth on the list. Dolly Parton’s The Very Best of Dolly Parton completes the Top 5.

1. Luke Combs - What You See Is What You Get

Luke Combs’ second album, What You See Is What You Get debuted at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in November 2019, with a deluxe edition released in 2020. It was certified Gold and became Combs’ first number one record in Australia. What You See Is What You Get includes five songs previously featured on the 2019 EP, The Prequel and its first four singles – Beer Never Broke My Heart, Even Though I’m Leaving, Does To Me and Lovin’ On You – all reached number one on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. The album also features collaborations with Brooks & Dunn and Eric Church.

2. Luke Combs - This One's For You

Luke Combs’ debut album, This One’s For You includes the singles Hurricane, When It Rains It Pours and One Number Away. A deluxe reissue titled This One’s For You Too was later released and featured five new tracks including the singles, She Got The Best Of Me and Beautiful Crazy. This One’s For You was also certified Gold in Australia.

3. Keith Urban - The Speed of Now Part 1

The Speed Of Now Part 1 is Keith Urban’s eleventh studio album. It features the number one, country-pop crossover hit single, One Too Many with Pink, the third single to be released off the album. Notably too, One Too Many was performed at the 55th Academy of Country Music Awards. Urban has said the reason for putting the Part 1 in the title was because he had a lot of extra material and is looking forward to another album, although, he doesn’t know when Part 2 will be ready.

4. Morgan Wallen - If You Know Me

Morgan Wallen co-wrote six of the fourteen tracks off his debut album, If I Know Me. The singles The Way I Talk, Whiskey Glasses and Chasin’ You all topped the US country radio charts. The album also featured the single, Up Down, recorded was Florida Georgia Line. In August 2020, it reached number 1 on the US Top Country Album charts after a record-breaking 114 weeks.

5. Dolly Parton - The Very Best of Dolly Parton

As the title suggests The Very Best of Dolly Parton is a greatest hits collection of songs by the legendary, Dolly Parton. The album features her early heartfelt tales of growing up in Tennessee – Coat Of Many Colors, My Tennessee Mountain Home – gave way to first a string of country chart-toppers – Jolene, I Will Always Love You, The Bargain Store – then pop crossover smashes in the 70s and 80s – Here You Come Again and 9 To 5. The album also features collaborations Everything’s Beautiful (In Its Own Way) with Willie Nelson, Islands In The Streams with Kenny Rogers and To Know Him Is To Love Him with Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt.
