Luke Combs stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! recently and showcased his acting abilities in a hilarious new comedy sketch.

The video sees Combs as an infomercial salesman selling fishing gear to clueless wannabee fishing enthusiasts for a store called Bass Amateur Shop, where dummies are welcome.

"Hey y'all, and I love to fish, but I'm no pro," Combs says, while dressed in over-the-top fishing gear and holding a fishing rod. “That’s why I start every adventure with a to Bass Amateur Shop. The place for people who love to fish but don’t have the faintest idea how to do it.”

He continues, “Our friendly employees are ready to help find the gear that’s right for you, and answer all of your stupidest questions,” such as, “How wet is the fish going to be?”, "How do they get all that salt in the water?" and "Are fish animals or dolphins?"

Then Combs models various fishing related items, such as reels (“little cranky turny guys), boots (“big tall shoes”), fishing line (“dental floss”), scoop nets (“the scoopdydoop”) and more.

Combs, who is actually an experienced fisherman, recently released his third studio album, Growin’ Up. He mentions his love for the outdoor sport in the track, On The Other Line.

Reflecting on the album, Combs said, “I’ve been working on this album on and off for two and a half years now. It was sort of a crazy process through what COVID brought, and what that meant for our touring life last year. It made me have to put a pause on this album for a second, but I’m just really stoked that it’s finally coming out. Working with Chip Matthews and Jonathan Singleton as a producer has been really great and I think that the fans are going to love these songs. I’m just excited to get them out and see what they think.”

Combs' music has earned him two GRAMMY Award nominations, three Billboard Music Awards, three ACM Awards and six CMA Awards, including the 2021 ‘Entertainer of the Year’ award, their highest honour. In 2020, he married Nicole Hocking. They had their first child in June 2022.
