Luke Combs has dethroned Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album from the #1 position after 63 weeks atop the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart since its release on January 8, 2021.

During a recent interview on the Full Send podcast, Combs said, “Dude, I love Morgan. I think he’s a great guy, man. I really do. And we’ve been on tour together, man, you know. I mean, I don’t think there’s any, at least to my knowledge, that it’s like…I don’t know of any country music [feud] like, ‘oh, I hate this guy, I can’t stand this guy.’ Like I don’t know of anything, at least that comes to mind straight away.”

Growin’ Up marks Combs’ fourth career #1 debut on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart. Released on June 24, the twelve-track project features his hits Doin’ This and The Kind Of Love We Make as well as his duet with Miranda Lambert called Outrunnin’ Your Memory.

The album also debuted at #2 on the all-genre Billboard 200, securing his fourth Top 10 on that chart. Billboard reports that this is the highest entrance for a full-length country album so far this year and the top-selling country debut week this year.

Combs previously said of Growin’ Up in a press release, “I’ve been working on this album on and off for two and a half years now. It was sort of a crazy process through what COVID brought, and what that meant for our touring life last year. It made me have to put a pause on this album for a second, but I’m just really stoked that it’s finally coming out. Working with Chip Matthews and Jonathan Singleton as a producer has been really great and I think that the fans are going to love these songs. I’m just excited to get them out and see what they think.”

Growin’ Up follows Combs’s breakthrough 2017 debut album, This One’s For You, and his 2019 sophomore project, What You See Is What You Get. He also released the expanded deluxe album, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get in 2020.

Combs recently welcomed his first child with wife, Nicole. Tex Lawrence was born on June 19.

"Welp. he decided that [U.S.] Father's Day would be a good time to show up. I couldn’t agree more. Me and [Nicole] are over the moon in love with this little guy," Combs shared on social media. "Mama and baby are healthy and we’re back home now with family. Life is good."
