Luke Bryan ProfileLuke Bryan has addressed the “frustrating” allegation that he used AI to write a recent single, denying the claim.
In a recent interview with Big D & Bubba, Bryan denied rumours that he used AI to write his song, Fish Hunt Golf Drink.
“My first frustration with it is, you put a song out and then the narrative starts on songs that you put out,” he explained. “People start a fake narrative on whether us artists or writers AI’d it.”
“I’ve got many, many writers on this album,” he continued. “All I can say is I know the songs that I personally wrote; there was no AI involved.” Bryan co-wrote the songs Fish Hunt Golf Drink and Crooked Rows of Corn on his latest album.
Elsewhere in the conversation, Bryan discussed why he avoids using AI in songwriting, saying he believes prompt-based AI machines can’t form an emotional connection with listeners.
“At some point, me being the artist, I’ve got to try to connect with my audience,” he said. “I don’t think AI is in a situation where it’s ready, at this point, to really figure out how to emotionally connect. I still think whoever is steering the ship on that still has to try to write a song that connects.”
Bryan added that it “gets frustrating” when people try to “discredit” what he does. He concluded, “When you do something, and then you’ve got a 17-year-old kid claiming that any artist AI’d something or they didn’t sing for real at the concert, and then the person that’s worked their ass off for all these years has to go explain themselves, it’s like, man, what are we doing here? If you think the song’s AI, and you don’t like the song, just don’t listen to the damn thing.”

Fish Hunt Golf Drink features on Bryan’s latest album, SIGNS, which arrived in September.
Upon announcing the record in May, he said of its release, “It is always a great day when I get the chance to release new music. I’ve been working on this album for the past year, and I just love how it turned out.
“I was able to co-write a few, then turn to the writers in Nashville to round them out. I feel like my fans have always let me record songs that make you feel good, so I went into this album wanting everyone to just have fun.”
