Rising country music talent Liam Maihi has been named the Big Break 2025 Winner, earning a coveted spot on the main stage at this year’s Sunset Bash on Saturday, 20 September at The Backyard, Panthers Penrith.

Maihi, known for his soulful vocals and heartfelt songwriting, is no stranger to the spotlight. His journey began with a Grand Final appearance on The Voice in 2015. After stepping back from music to focus on raising his young family, Maihi has re-emerged with a powerful return to form. His recent single, Whiskey & You, has captured the attention of fans and radio alike, gaining airplay on KIX Country and ABC Country.

The win marks a significant milestone in Maihi’s career, giving him the opportunity to share the stage with some of Australia’s most celebrated country artists including Brad Cox, Amber Lawrence, and Jeremy Turner.

“I’m so honoured to be named the Sunset Bash Big Break Winner for 2025 and pumped that I get to share my music with a festival crowd alongside artists I’ve looked up to for years,” said Maihi.

Festival organisers say this year’s event is shaping up to be the biggest yet, with a stacked line-up that also features Tori Darke, Linc Phelps, Abbie Ferris, Ali S, Felicity Kircher, and a high-energy country-bangers set from DJ Cass.
