Following in the footsteps of Jimmie Allen, Kelsea Ballerini and Brett Young, platinum-selling singer-songwriter Lauren Alaina has announced the release of her debut book, Getting Good At Being You: Learning to Love Who God Made You to Be, on November 2nd with Trisha Yearwood writing the foreword. With a little bit of country, a whole lot of faith, and a healthy dose of sass, the 224-page book invites fans to take the road less travelled as they step right up to who God calls you to be.
Alaina shared the news via her socials last week. “Be sure to BOOK your calendars for November 2nd. I’m releasing my WRITE of passage, Getting Good At Being You. It’s available for pre-order online everywhere books are sold, and on shelves in November.”

After years in the spotlight on American Idol and Dancing with the Stars, the Getting Over Him singer has learned a thing or two about fighting self-doubt and feeling at home in her own skin. In Getting Good at Being You, Alaina shares stories about everything from lost loves to getting a nose ring to battling an eating disorder to grieving a loved one’s death. Each story leads to practical tips, take-it-on-the-road strategies, and encouragement for your own personal and spiritual growth. The book also includes behind-the-scenes photos from her career in country music.
Alaina recently released her single, Getting Over Him featuring Jon Pardi. The song is the title cut from her EP of the same name, which features six self-penned songs embodying confidence, empowerment, and resilience. In addition to Getting Over Him, standout tracks include Run and What Do You Think Of? featuring pop sensation Lukas Graham.
The Georgia-native will also star in the Hallmark Channel’s upcoming movie, Roadhouse Romance alongside Tyler Hynes. She previously appeared as herself in a 2017 episode of the musical drama series, Nashville, the same year she starred as Charlotte in a made-for-TV movie called Road Less Traveled, which was based on her song and album of the same time.
