Kelsea Ballerini Unveils New EP 'Mount Pleasant' And Drops Lead Single

Kelsea Ballerini returns with her introspective 6 track EP Mount Pleasant, led by the new single “i sit in parks” before her tour of Australia next month.

Kelsea Ballerini is shifting into a new creative era with the announcement of her upcoming EP Mount Pleasant, which arrives next week on Friday, November 14. Ahead of the EP’s release, she dropped the lead track i sit in parks. at midnight which she had been previously teasing via her social media.

Mount Pleasant follows her 2024 album Patterns, and marks a shift from expansive album storytelling to a more concise, song by song snapshot of where she is now creatively. 

The six song collection features titles People Pleaser, Emerald City, 587, The Revisionist and Check On Your Friends. In revealing the cover art and track list to fans, Ballerini set the tone for this chapter: reflective, playful, and grounded in both space and personal growth. 

With i sit in parks. leading the way, listeners are getting an early taste of what the full body of work will feel like: rooted in place, honest in emotion, and designed to feel both intimate and universal. As Ballerini puts it: “welcome to the park, where daydreaming and crash outs, “what a life” and “what now?”, wandering and wondering…are all at play.” 

Upon the announcement, fans and friends flooded the comments on her posts with actress Reese Witherspoon commenting “AHHHHHHH... it's soooo good”, Ashley Cooke summed up how a lot of us are feeling “iconic. chills. yes.”, while rising star Adam Mac added “We are SAT with our eyes on the clock, dear.” and label mate MaRynn Taylor chimed in “CANT WAIT FOR THIS”

And for fans in Australia, the excitement for hearing new music live just became that much more real. Ballerini is heading down under next month for her first major Australia tour in years, hitting arenas in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane with support from rising US star Carter Faith and local talent aleksiah.
