Keith Urban has been forced to reschedule the Australian leg of his upcoming Speed Of Now world tour due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions on mass gatherings and interstate travel.
Urban shared the news via Facebook: “I just want to let you know from me personally, that we just got word that our Speed Of Now world tour is unable to come to Australia this December due to potential travel restrictions, COVID issues, capacity issues. I'm so sorry, guys. I've been psyched to come and play for so long. We are going to have to push our tour off to December 2022. But we are going to bring it in 2022.”
He added, “I want to say thank you to every one of you for your patience, your passion. Every one of you that has bought tickets, you can hang on to those for next December ... On behalf of my band, my crew and all of us, we are so sorry, but we will be bringing it and I'll be seeing you guys very, very soon.”
Originally scheduled from December 1 to 19 in 2021, Speed Of Now was to serve as Urban’s first tour of the country since December of 2019, and his first headline show since earlier in 2020.

Tickets purchased for the December 2021 concerts remain valid for the rescheduled dates, with ticket holders not needing to take any action. Special guest Birds of Tokyo will join Urban at all shows next year.
The tour shares its name with Urban’s 11th studio album, The Speed Of Now Part 1, which was released back in September 2020 and features the hit single One Too Many with Pink. The album marked his fourth in a historic streak of simultaneous #1 album debuts in the United States, Canada, and Australia.
Urban is one of the most successful and well-respected artists in the world. He’s won four GRAMMY Awards, thirteen CMAs, fifteen ACMs, three AMAs, two People’s Choice Awards, and celebrated nine consecutive gold, platinum, or multi-platinum albums. He has had 24 #1’s, 43 Top 10 singles in the U.S., 27 #1’s in Canada, and numerous other chart-topping placements in Australia, the U.K., and other countries worldwide. Not to mention, Urban has collaborated with a diverse group of artists including Billy Gibbons, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Chris Stapleton, Eric Church, John Mayer, BRELAND, Miranda Lambert, Nile Rodgers, Post Malone, Taylor Swift, The Rolling Stones among others.
