More Keith Urban More Keith Urban

Keith Urban has parted ways with three of his band members ahead of an intimate show at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto.

Jerry Flowers (guitar, songwriter and musician), keyboardist Nathan Barlowe, and drummer Terence F. Clark all revealed their departures from Urban’s band, with Flowers sharing that the move wasn’t made of his own volition.

“It’s with a heavy but very full heart that after 25 years on stage with Keith Urban, Keith has decided to make a lineup change and I will no longer be in the band,” Flowers wrote on Instagram.

Adding that he has and “always will” have the utmost respect for Urban, Flowers treasures the “amazing years we had together.”

He continued, “I want to thank all the fans that have showed me so much love for so many years and I hope I was a small part of bringing you joy and happiness thru our shows.

“Now I’m going to open myself up to new opportunities and I’m excited to see what’s next for me.”

Barlowe and Clark also shared the news on Instagram. Barlowe wrote: “Sadly, my time with Keith Urban has come to an end. I can’t tell you how thankful I am for the last 9 years. I have loved every second of it and given my all.

“Thank you Keith for believing in me. Thank you to the GMT family! I love you, and it has been an honor to share laughs, memories, stages, planes, buses, and bars with you all over the world. I’ll carry you with me forever.”

Clark added, “It’s a new year and I’m welcoming new endeavors. It’s been a HIGH ride but it’s time for a new adventure!! I’m extremely thankful for my time with @keithurban, the band and his team and I’m excited for what’s to come! If you need/want me, catch me while you can!”

In the comment sections of all three posts, fans have expressed disappointment and shock at the line-up changes. From asking if Urban has “lost his marbles” and describing Flowers as the “heart and soul of the band” to asking for refunds following the departures, it’s fair to say that longtime Keith Urban fans are unhappy with the news.

Urban hasn’t publicly addressed the line-up changes at the time of publication.

Keith Urban will bring his High World Tour to Australia in August. Demand has led to sold-out shows and a third arena show in Brisbane. You can find more details about the tour here.
