Australia’s The Voice: Generations made its debut on January 31 on Channel 7, with coaches Rita Ora, Jess Mauboy, Guy Sebastian and Keith Urban back for the three-night special.

In a global first, the singing competition reality television series sees the nation’s greatest performers from different generations take to the stage together to showcase their amazing talent. Unlike the main series, the show features groups of at least two members, whom have a pre-existing relationship, coming from different generations with no age limit.

A five-year-old named Harry blind auditioned with Mum Christine singing Cher’s If I Could Turn Back Time, but unfortunately none of the judges turned their chairs – indicating they are moving on to the next round of the competition. Harry then proceeded to say his favourite coach was Urban.

After receiving a hug, Urban offered the aspiring young singer some kind words.

“I love that you naturally want to sing. It’s so naturally in you," Urban said. "You look incredibly comfortable on stage. That song that you did had a key change that is really hard to do and you just went for the key change. You’re a really good singer, so I think if you can start getting some lessons and get that natural gift you’ve got, you’d be off and running and we’ll be seeing you on The Voice proper.”

Harry also shared that when he gets bigger, he wants to turn around in the chair. Urban proceeded to make Harry’s wish come true, putting him in his chair. Urban then coached Harry on when to push the button as his Mum began singing. Harry then smashed the button, turning around for his Mum.

You can catch the season finale of The Voice: Generations on Channel 7 and 7 Plus on Wednesday, February 2 at 7.30pm. Urban’s Ty and Eddie will compete for the championship title against Ora’s Caitlin and Tim, Mauboy’s Jess and Kelsi and Sebastian’s The Wenas.
