Kashus CulpepperKashus Culpepper isn't quite ready to close the book on Act I just yet.
The Alabama singer-songwriter has announced Act I: Summer Nights, a new five-track companion EP arriving June 19 that expands on the world he introduced through his acclaimed debut album earlier this year.
Rather than serving as a direct continuation, Act I: Summer Nights explores a different side of Culpepper's artistry. While his debut leaned heavily into the soulful country sound that's quickly become his trademark, the new collection finds him embracing a lighter, groovier energy that feels made for open windows and long summer drives.
Created alongside producer and co-writer Mike Robinson, the project grew out of a creative period where the pair simply followed whatever felt good in the moment. The result is a collection that includes the infectious Let Me Show You Love and Miss You Much Longer, alongside a fresh take on Glen Campbell classic Southern Nights.
Despite the shift in mood, fans can still expect many of the elements that have made Culpepper one of country music's most exciting emerging voices. Pedal steel remains front and centre throughout the project, while the singer's distinctive blend of country, soul and Americana continues to shine.

The announcement follows a huge 12 months for Culpepper, who recently brought his music to Australian audiences while touring alongside Wyatt Flores. The rising star also made an appearance at Howlin' Country, introducing local fans to the sound that's quickly turning heads on both sides of the Pacific.
With Act I establishing Culpepper as one of country music's most compelling new storytellers, Act I: Summer Nights feels like a bonus chapter.
