Kacey Musgraves Suddenly Cancels Three US Tour Dates

Kacey Musgraves is taking her 'Middle of Nowhere' tour across the US from August to October.

Kacey Musgraves has suddenly cancelled three dates on her forthcoming Middle of Nowhere tour but hasn’t publicly offered an explanation.

The Mexico Honey singer was scheduled to begin her extensive international tour with two consecutive nights at United Centre in Chicago on Thursday, 20 and Friday, 21 August.

However, NME notes that the concert on 20 August has been cancelled, as have shows at TD Garden, Boston, on Saturday, 29 August, and the Barclays Centre, Brooklyn, on Wednesday, 2 September.

Additionally, all three shows were extra dates that were announced after Musgraves revealed her original tour schedule in May—they were added to the tour to meet demand. The singer will still perform in Chicago, Boston, and for two nights at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Ticket holders reportedly received emails with information about the show cancellations and refunds.

At the time of publication, Musgraves hasn’t publicly addressed the three shows getting cancelled. You can find tickets to the remaining tour dates on her website.

Kacey Musgraves is touring in support of her seventh album, Middle of Nowhere, released in May. The album debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200, but also made major strides on country, Americana and folk charts—including in Australia.

“The bulk of this record was made during the longest single period of my life”, Musgraves explained upon announcing the album. “I found that for the first time, it actually felt incredible being alone and existing in a space not defined by anyone else. I became fascinated with the concept of liminal space, both geographical and emotional.

“We don’t linger in these transitional, empty spaces long enough and rush to define where or whatever is next.”

Musgraves will bring Middle of Nowhere to Australia in January 2027, when she co-headlines the newly launched festival, LONGHAUL, alongside Kane Brown.

The festival is taking over the Melbourne Showgrounds on Friday, 22 January, Sydney Showground on Saturday, 23 January, and Brisbane RNA Showgrounds on Sunday, 24 January. Ticketing information can be found here.
