Josh Ross will no longer appear at CMC Rocks in March this year, with the Canadian country artist pulling out due to a major career milestone in the United States.

The news was confirmed by CMC Rocks this afternoon in a statement shared with fans, explaining that new commitments have made it impossible for Ross to travel to Australia at this time.

The festival announced that Ross has been named as one of the new faces of CRS in the US, a significant step for any country artist looking to break further into the American market. While the move is a big win for Ross, it also means he’s had to step back from international touring plans, including his much anticipated appearance at Australia’s biggest country music festival.

CMC Rocks shared the news with fans, saying: "Big things are happening for Josh Ross!
Josh has just been announced as one of the new faces of CRS in the US! It’s an incredible career milestone, which unfortunately means he’s no longer able to travel to Australia and won’t be joining us at CMC Rocks this year.”

“We’re sad we won’t see him on the CMC stage, but so proud of what’s ahead for him. We’re already working on getting another artist and will have news coming very soon "

Ross has already made an impression on Australian fans, having appeared at CMC’s sister festival Ridin’ Hearts in 2024. The performance marked his first major festival moment in Australia and helped introduce his music to local country audiences.

Playing to packed crowds across Sydney and Melbourne, Ross quickly connected with fans through his high energy set and relatable songwriting, cementing himself as a fast rising name on the Australian country radar.

While fans will be disappointed not to see him live at CMC Rocks this year, the sentiment around his withdrawal has been largely supportive. For many, this moment feels less like a setback and more like a sign that Ross is entering a new phase of his career.

Festival organisers have confirmed they’re already working on a replacement artist, with an announcement expected soon. Until then, Josh Ross’ CMC Rocks set will have to wait.
