"After much thought and reflection in recent months, Lex & I have made the decision to separate," Allen said in a social media post. "As we navigate this life change, we can also share that we will be welcoming another child together later this year. Our number one priority is and always will be ensuring that our children are healthy, happy and loved, and we remain committed to co-parenting with love and respect for one another."
The couple asked for privacy as they navigate their new situation. The pair married in 2020 and are currently parents of two daughters. Allen is also the father of an eight year old son from a previous relationship.
Ahead of Allen's official announcement, Alexis posted a message on her social media, quoting E.M. Forster "We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the live that is waiting for us."
Jimmie Allen was most recently in Australia for CMC Rocks 2022 and was slated to be back for the Boardwalk Country Music Festival which was supposed to be rescheduled for later in 2023 after its earlier cancellation.
