After what has been a dream trip for Jelly Roll in Australia, a recent shopping experience in Sydney left a rather bitter taste in the country star’s mouth.

The Nashville native has been down under on a whirlwind trip. Headlining the inaugural

Strummingbird festival as well as headlining his own tour with Shaboozey and Drew Baldridge in tow, plus appearances at Harvest Rock and Sunburnt Country, Jelly Roll has been winning over Aussie fans with his larger than life personality and heartfelt songwriting.

But on Wednesday afternoon things took a disappointing turn for the superstar after visiting a Louis Vuitton store in downtown Sydney. Jelly Roll took to his Instagram stories and shared his experience.

“Hey man, The Louis Vuitton in Sydney, legitimately just treated us like we were finna come in and rob that place. I have never been looked at more like a crim. Listen, the last time I was looked at like a criminal this bad.. I was an actual criminal this bad”

Although the rather unpleasant - and quite frankly, straight up rude -  reaction from staff in the store Jelly Roll still had a sense of humour about him and seemed to laugh off the situation with his crew maintaining the down to earth attitude we all know and love.

After a whopping national tour spanning more than two weeks, Jelly Roll currently has two stops remaining on his Down Under Tour, Townsville on Thursday night and Auckland on Saturday night, before heading back to the United States.

Despite the hiccup, Jelly Roll’s first Australian tour has been nothing short of a massive success, packed with near sold out arena shows, surprise collaborations, and genuine connections with fans and fellow artists. From naming a baby quokka Loretta to sharing the stage twice with Kaylee Bell, he’s embraced every part of the Aussie experience — even if his Louis Vuitton shopping trip didn’t quite hit the same note.
