Australian country singer-songwriter Jay Santilli has revealed her next career milestone: performing in Rome.

Santilli won the Maton Talent Search at the Gympie Music Muster in 2012. From her beginnings in the industry, which contained a slow burn that yielded a slew of singles, writing trips to Nashville and as many shows as possible among the ever-shifting sands of life, love, and loss, Santilli went on hiatus.

In the last few years, Santilli has restarted her country music career in earnest, dropping impressive singles while being a mother to twin daughters.

This June, Santilli will be the sole international artist to perform at the 2025 Sweat & Dust Country Festival in Rome, Italy. The performance marks her European debut, bringing her powerful country sound to an international audience.

Recognised as the host of one of Europe’s largest line dancing events, Santilli will close the event with a full band and encourage boot scootin’ from the audience. She’s set to not only perform fan-favourite tunes and line-dancing anthems but also share a sneak peek at new music.

The Sweat & Dust Country Music Festival will take place across three days—from Friday, 13 June, to Sunday, 15 June. Annually, the event draws line dancing enthusiasts from across Europe.

In a statement, Santilli said of the milestone, “It’s an absolute honour to be part of such an iconic festival, especially in a country my family has such historical ties too.

“Line dancing and country music go hand in hand, and I can’t wait to bring the full-band experience to such a passionate crowd. It’s going to be one big party in Rome!”

On Instagram, she added: “ROMA, HERE WE COME! Beyond excited to announce that I’ll be heading to Europe’s biggest line dancing festival – Sweat & Dust Country Festival 2025 in Rome, Italy! Even wilder? I’m the only [international] artist this year, closing out the festival with the Square Dance Band! Let’s make it a night to remember!”
