iHeartCountry ProfileLess than a month after iHeartCountry Australia made major changes to its presenters’ line-up, the radio station announced that Tasmanian radio host Jackie Harvey has joined its ranks.
Harvey will host weekday mornings on iHeartCountry Australia, presented by ARN, Radio Today reports. In addition to the new role, she continues the afternoon shift on Launceston’s Chilli FM and remains the Assistant Program Director on Chilli FM and LAFM.
Harvey didn’t take on the role without experience: for three years, she worked at the station before its rebrand, when it was still known as KIX Country.
On the KIX team, she presented the weekend Breakfast show. Plus, she has a long-running relationship with ARN/Grant Broadcasters. For over a decade, she’s worked a variety of roles, including talkback production, on-air presenting, music direction, commercial production, and more.
“I’ve always gone out of my way to learn things that weren’t even a part of my role,” Harvey said, per Radio Today. “I just love radio and being able to upskill, and country music is something I’m so passionate about.”
She continued, “I’ve been so lucky to work with and learn from so many experienced and knowledgeable people across the network; I’m really grateful for every opportunity I’ve had to keep learning and growing in radio.”
Last month, iHeartCountry breakfast announcer Steve Fitton and drive host Chris “Kristof” Sandilands revealed their departures from the station.
At the time, Sandilands teased his next move, posting on his Instagram stories that he was “Workin on something” against a graphic spruiking “KSL Country: Real Country, Real People, Real Passion”, pushing fans to download his brother Kyle’s new Kyle Sandilands Live app.
Beloved afternoons announcer Justin Thomson remains at iHeartCountry Australia.
iHeartCountry was relaunched in December 2024, with the network heralding the expanded on-air line-up as a “gamechanger for country music in Australia”. Last year, it merged with the existing brand, KIX Country.
