Hosts and Performers Announced For 2022 Golden Guitar Awards

37-time Golden Guitar winner and 2021 ARIA Award winner for ‘Best Country Album’, Troy Cassar-Daley and ARIA nominated group, The Wolfe Brothers will headline a long list of stars set to perform at Australian Country Music’s night of nights – the 2022 Toyota 50th Golden Guitar Awards.

Set to be held on April 20 at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre, the 50th Awards will be co-hosted by multi-Golden Guitar winners and ARIA nominated artists, Adam Harvey and Beccy Cole.

Troy Cassar-Daley and The Wolfe Brothers are also the top nominees for the night, with Cassar-Daley up for eight awards and The Wolfe Brothers nominated in seven categories.

Chairman of the Country Music Association of Australia Inc (CMAA), Dobe Newton says, “2022 is a record-breaking year for the Awards, with more than 760 entries. The calibre of talent in our hosts and performers is testament to how strong, resilient and dynamic Australia’s country music industry is. After what has been a tough few years for artists and the industry it will be a great moment to celebrate and recognise those who’ve made an outstanding contribution to Australian Country Music.”

Also performing at the 2022 Toyota 50th Golden Guitar Awards will be 11-time Golden Guitar and three-time ARIA winner, Shane Nicholson, who’s nominated in five categories, including ‘Toyota Album of the Year’; Felicity Urquhart and Josh Cunningham, who are up for four awards, including ‘Country Music Capital News Group or Duo of the Year’; as well as eight-time Golden Guitar winner and co-host Adam Harvey, who’s nominated for ‘Traditional Country Album of the Year’ and ‘APRA AMCOS Song of the Year’.

Four-times nominated, Angus Gill will also perform at the 50th Awards, as well as Tamworth local Ashleigh Dallas and The Weeping Willows, who are both nominated in two categories.

2020 Toyota Star Maker winner Sammy White, as well as Cass Hopetoun, Camille Trail, Darlinghurst and Raechel Whitchurch also have individual performances, with all five nominated for ‘New Talent of the Year’.

Tamworth Regional Council and the CMAA will present the 2022 Toyota 50th Golden Guitar Awards live on Wednesday, 20 April 2022, from Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre and livestreamed via the Festival website.
