Homegrown To Return To Australia Following Jonas Brothers Tour

Sibling trio, Homegrown will return to Australia later this year to perform on Choose Your Cruise’s Super Cruise 2022, alongside artists like Lee Kernaghan, John Williamson, Troy Cassar-Daley, Amber Lawrence, The Viper Creek Band, Sammy White, Raechel Whitchurch and more.

Katelyn, Liam and Kasey O'Donoghue recently wrapped up dates in the United States, where they opened for The Jonas Brothers on their Remember This Tour, alongside special guest Kelsea Ballerini.

The siblings, who moved to Nashville in June 2021, confess that competing on The Voice in 2018, in which Joe Jonas was their coach and mentor, helped to kick start their career.

"Joe Jonas was a judge on our season of The Voice, he has been such a big mentor and helped us a lot and we kept in contact after the show,” Katelyn shared. “We received a call from him out of the blue in 2019 asking us to go to Nashville to 'hangout and do some songwriting'. For about a year afterwards we had been working on moving to Nashville and as we were about to leave Australia, Joe rang and asked how we felt about going on tour with them."

Homegrown spent their childhood singing together and listening to the likes of Alan Jackson, Slim Dusty, Kasey Chambers and Brooks and Dunn. The three siblings have their own sound but are reminiscent of Little Big Town, Fleetwood Mac and The McClymonts. They formed a band in 2009, and first performed at the Gympie Music Muster’s talent quest. Homegrown later released their debut self-titled EP in 2016 and Wildflower Bruises in 2018.

Having worked with songwriters in Nashville, Homegrown are currently hard at work on their next album – which, they say, is filled with “songs about being young, in love” and heartbreak.

Kasey says, "We have been working with some really cool songwriters here in Nashville and we are starting to get a pile of songs together, so hopefully we will release those this year. We then plan to perform those across the states, so we are excited for that."
