Austin Mackay is the newest name to enter the zeitgeist of Australian country music, leveraging his recent performance at the industry event BIGSOUND to release a brand new single, Worth The Wait.
While Mackay may be at the top of his game right now, the new single, which dropped today, is a soundtrack to the growth it took to get there.
“Worth The Wait is a reflection on my own personal journey dealing with the struggles of anxiety and the constant pressures of the industry,” says the singer.
“This track and the EP it’s part of are all little snapshots of my recent life experiences. These songs all hold a place in my heart, and to get to share them with the world, knowing that they may offer a little comfort and reassurance to those listening, makes them all the more special to me”.
Worth The Wait exemplifies Mackay's trademark blend of thoughtful lyrics with upbeat country rock. The song's thoughtful words explore themes of patience and personal progress, while the energetic rhythm and uplifting melody serve as an anthem for anybody who believes in the motto that “perseverance pays off.”
The Novocastrian was recently selected to play Brisbane’s esteemed music industry festival BIGSOUND in the first week of September, playing in the city’s newest country venue Honky Tonks as well as Black Bear Lodge throughout the week.
