Up-and-coming country star Emmagen Rain has returned with her first new song for 2024, tackling heartbreak on Love Me Like A Cowboy.
In a press release, the regional NSW artist said her catchy new tune is about “being with someone you know you definitely shouldn’t be with”. She further explained: “Your friends are rolling their eyes and shaking their heads but you just wanna live in the moment. Even though you know it won’t last, you’ll stay until he leaves (like a light on).”
Love Me Like A Cowboy was co-written by Rain and Ingrid Oram, the latter of whom also produced it (with Peter Holz handling the mix). It arrives today in celebration of Rain’s birthday – believe it or not, the soon-to-be superstar is just 17!
Rain first made waves at 13 with her appearance on The Voice Australia, singing the poignant song Not Pretty Enough for its 2020 season. She released three more standalone singles that same year – City Lights Call, Love What You Find and Karaoke Song – with another string of tracks building up to her debut EP, Pretty Little Bandit, in April of last year.

She also followed that release up with another one-off track, Don’t Wanna Meet Your Parents, last October.
