Darius Rucker will renovate a historic mansion in Charleston, South Carolina.
Darius Rucker will host a six-part television series called Rucker’s Reno.
The show will follow the Beer and Sunshine singer and interior designer Betsy Berry, of B. Berry Interiors, as they renovate a historic mansion in the heart of his Charleston, South Carolina hometown.
When the house is finished, the empty landmark will be transformed into a homebase for his family to enjoy.
The downtown Charleston building was originally built in 1803 by enslaved Black Americans, and through telling its story, Rucker will also shed light on the Southern city's history.
Teaming up with South Carolina Tourism, the series’ Title Sponsor, Rucker will also showcase the best parts of Charleston’s vibrant culture. He’ll meet up with local chefs, entrepreneurs, fishermen and friends as he highlights some of the top attractions in the area, from generations of tea growers to the many outdoor activities the city by the sea has to offer.
“We are thrilled to have been entrusted to tell this story and work with Darius and his amazing design team,” said Jason Harris, founder and CEO of The Design Network. “It’s a big moment for our burgeoning network. It’s the perfect project, with the perfect person at the perfect time.”
Rucker added, “It’s always an honour when I get to showcase my hometown of Charleston to the world, and I’m thankful to the Design Network for such a great platform to do just that. The team on this project was so talented and made it such a fun, creative process from start to finish. I can’t wait for everyone to see the transformation!”
