Akon, the Grammy-nominated pop and R&B sensation known for hits like Smack That ft. Eminem and Lonely, is making a surprising pivot straight into country music. The artist, who once dominated the charts with his urban sound is now embracing a country sound, and he's bringing some big names along for the ride.

In a notable collaboration, Akon has teamed up with Gary LeVox, the lead vocalist of Rascal Flatts, and Latin music star De La Ghetto for the track Hold The Umbrella. This song is a fusion of country, pop, and Latin influences, aiming to be the anthem of the summer. This collaboration introduces Akon's signature style to the country genre, offering a fresh take on the classic track .

These projects not only signify Akon's commitment to exploring new musical territories but also showcase his ability to adapt his sound to different genres.
