More Sara Berki More Sara Berki

Countrytown in partnership with KIX Country is proud to announce NSW Southern Highlands singer-songwriter Sara Berki as this week’s ‘Centre Stage’ artist. Every week we'll be shining a light on a single artist across all platforms including online features, airplay, and social support.

Brought up on artists like Cat Stevens, Fleetwood Mac, AC/DC, Carol King, Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons and more, Sara has been singing, playing guitar and writing music for herself from a tender age, making appearances everywhere and anywhere she could gig, with her 6 string and her vocal range that will melt the hardest of hearts.

However, it wasn’t until March 2021 that Sara decided to record her original music. Teaming up with producer, Simon Johnson, she released her debut single, Fallin’ Off The Heartline. The song is about a younger love that had once been when two people were in college.

Towards the end of 2021, Sara was announced as a Top 10 Finalist for a performance spot at Groundwater Country Music Festival in a competition supported by KIX Country. More recently, she toured with powerhouse duo, McAlister Kemp.

Her new single, Drinking For Free is a fiery and sassy track which delivers a punchy country hook which will have live audiences singing along. The storyline is about a strong woman working her magic at the bar, she’s happy to get her drinks for free but on her terms only.

Sara explains, “Imagine she is going out, she doesn’t have any expectations or cares in the world, and she knows she’s going to have drinks bought for her the whole night. That’s what this song is about. It’s cheeky, sassy, and flirty. It gives me Daisy Duke vibes!  I was listening to early Miranda Lambert and Gretchen Wilson when I wrote it.”

The show is presented by Ringers Western and will feature rising duo, Sons of Atticus as special guests. Tickets are on-sale now from www.saraberki.com

Sara has been announced on the line-up of CMC Rocks QLD 2023, a major accomplishment for an artist in their debut year. She will join the impressive line-up that includes Morgan Wallen, Zac Brown Band, Kip Moore, Bailey Zimmerman, Ashley McBryde, HARDY and many more.
