Morgan Wallen and Zach Bryan were among the top five most-streamed artists in the US this year, according to Spotify Wrapped statistics revealed this week.

Taylor Swift was named the most-streamed artist of the year, and her album, The Tortured Poets Department, was the most-played album on the service globally. In the US, the top five artists on Spotify in 2024 comprise Taylor Swift at #1, Drake at #2, Zach Bryan at #3, Morgan Wallen at #4, and Kanye West at #5.

Bryan and Wallen also made the most-streamed albums of 2024 list, with Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album making it to #8 and Zach Bryan’s self-titled album at #9.

Country music also made waves on the most streamed songs chart, with Shaboozey’s hit, A Bar Song (Tipsy) at #3, behind Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso and Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us.

Post Malone’s I Had Some Help featuring Morgan Wallen landed at #4, and Zach Bryan’s I Remember Everything featuring Kacey Musgraves at #9. Alt-country star Noah Kahan made appearances on the most-streamed albums and most-streamed songs lists with Stick Season (album) at #4 and #10 (song).

Meanwhile, country music is the most popular genre besides pop in Brisbane, Australia, outdoing every other city in terms of enjoying country music. If it weren’t for the popularity of Drake, Brisbane’s top five artists of the year would have been all country.

The most popular artists in Brisbane in 2024 were Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen, Drake, Zach Bryan, and Luke Combs. I Had Some Help was also one of the most popular songs of the year in Brisbane, per Spotify, but it didn’t make the cut in any other Australian city.

Aside from the NSW-based music festival, Tamworth Country Music Festival, two of Australia’s most popular country music events are in Queensland, including the Ipswich-based CMC Rocks and the Gympie Music Muster. The state is also home to the Groundwater Country Music Festival.

As The Tennessean notes, country music has exploded in popularity in 2024, and the Spotify Wrapped statistics prove it.
