In 2021, Bella Mackenzie became the inaugural winner of the Groundwater Country Music Festival KIX-Start Competition, earning praise and recognition from one of the most successful country music festivals in Australia and Australian country music radio.
Mackenzie has made her way through the Australian country music live circuit, including early performances at Tamworth Country Music Festival, NQ’s Rock’n Country, Rockhampton River Festival, and more.
While The Voice Australia is primarily aimed at amateur singers, Mackenzie is poised to find mainstream appeal after she earned two places on the Top 50 Most Played Songs on Australian country music radio in 2022. You can watch the music video of her song, 1 2 3 You And Me, below.
This year’s season of The Voice Australia marks the return of three judges, Australian Idol royalty Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy and UK pop star Rita Ora, and welcomes US pop and R&B sensation Jason Derulo.
The Voice Australia announced Derulo’s addition to the judging panel in March, replacing Australian country music icon and Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame inductee Keith Urban in the red chair.
“I’ve always loved The Voice, and Australia happens to be one of my favourite places in the world. I can’t wait to hear all the amazing talent down under,” Derulo said in a statement.
