Country music star Colt Ford was taken to hospital in Mesa, Arizona last week following a heart attack on Thursday night – mere hours after his performance at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row in Gilbert.
The singer was a third of the way through his Coltford On Tour run around America when the health crisis happened, and Ford’s team are yet to confirm if the tour will be put on halt while he recovers.
A source online revealed: “Doctors say that he has a fighting chance and he is receiving the best care that he can possibly get. The doctors are are optimistic but they do say its going to be a very slow healing process.”
Ford’s publicist told TMZ that he was in a stable condition for the meantime.
While the heart attack has surprised and upset thousands of fans, Ford’s health has previously taken some blows. Less than a year ago, he told Taste Of Country that he had been diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis, an incurable autoimmune condition causing fatigue between muscles and nerves. Ford had been placed on supplements that were helping fight the fatigue through performances, however, he stated he had no control over vision in his right eye.
The Georgian-born country rapper had also fought eye cancer, telling People Magazine that he was “a week to 10 days from having to go on full chemo”.

Words of love have come from the likes of fellow country singers Camo Brian, The Lacs, Ashton Shepherd and Chris Taylor, while photos of Colt next to adoring fans sprinkle across social media.
“I wanna send up prayers for Colt Ford who suffered a heart attack after a show last night in AZ. You won’t find a more genuine and kind guy in the biz. Prayers for his recovery and for the comfort of his family during this scary time.” Said one fan on Twitter.
“Prayers up to my good buddy @coltford he is a great man battling his health, and all he wants to do is better the world and play music for you all! Pray for him.” Another fan added.
As for fans at the Arizona show, eyewitnesses claim that Ford did not show any sign of illness during his performance, and was very vibrant and energised.
We await to hear from the man himself about the recovery process, but for now, we hope for the best.
