If you thought CMC Rocks couldn’t possibly add any more amazing sets to your schedule, think again. The festival has just announced its Songwriters Shows line-up, and honestly, it’s stacked.
Across three huge days, some of the biggest names on the bill will step into a more intimate setting, trading full production for stripped-back storytelling. It’s the kind of format where the hits feel closer, the jokes land harder and the crowd gets a rare peek behind the curtain at how these songs actually came to life.
Friday’s round is already shaping up to be elite-tier. Riley Green, James Johnston, Waylon Wyatt and Willow Avalon will take the stage - and yes, that means Wyatt and Avalon sharing the same songwriters stage on the same day.
Considering the pair have their song Smoke & Embers which climbed the charts here in Australia, you can’t tell us there’s not a live duet brewing. If we don’t get it, we riot (respectfully). There’s something about two collaborators swapping verses in a writers round that just hits different and Australia may be one of the few lucky crowds to experience it.

Saturday keeps the momentum sky high with Old Dominion, Carly Pearce, George Birge and CMC Rocks host Mike Carr. Between Old Dominion’s catalogue of absolute bangers and Carly’s razor sharp songwriting, expect equal parts heartbreak and humour.
Then Sunday closes things out strong with Jordan Davis, Tucker Wetmore, Elizabeth Nichols and our very own Lane Pittman joining the lineup as a surprise guest. It’s giving big voices, big feelings and the perfect ramp up energy before the final night chaos kicks in.
If you’ve never done a Songwriters Show at CMC Rocks before, consider this your sign. It’s raw, it’s real and it might just be the most magical part of the entire weekend. Add it to your planner, immediately.
