Australia’s premier country music festival, CMC Rocks QLD has been re-imagined in an exciting new format that’ll stream globally exclusively on Apple Music Country from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 March between 7pm AEDT (6pm QLD) and 9pm AEDT (8pm QLD).
For a solid two hours each evening, fans can join host Morgan Evans as he takes a trip down memory lane sharing some of the festivals’ greatest moments and performances, starting at 2008’s first annual CMC Rocks The Snowys right through to 2019’s epic sold out CMC Rocks QLD.
Retitled, CMC Rocks Your Yard will feature live performances from Luke Combs, Kelsea Ballerini, Dean Brody, Dan + Shay plus more, while festival favourites Lee Kernaghan, The McClymonts, The Wolfe Brothers, Brothers Osborne and Lee Brice join the party, sharing some favourite moments from their CMC Rocks visits, what they think makes the event so special, and why Australian country fans are the best in the world.
Festival directors Michael Chugg and Jeremy Dylan will also look back at some of their favourite moments over the years and share some backstage laughs, while beloved festival-goer Big Jim - unmissable each year in his position front and centre at the main stage - tells us why he’s a CMC Rocks lifer.

“We couldn’t let our CMC Rocks weekend go by without doing something for our fans, the amazing community of folks throughout Australia who come together each year to make our festival the magical experience it is,” says Dylan.
“CMC Rocks QLD may have been postponed for 2021, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get the family together safely, to have a bit of a party next month! We know everyone’s feeling it, it’s been a tough time for a lot of people. We’re missing it too, that amazing energy that comes each March when CMC Rocks kicks off. But I think together with Apple Music, we’ve put together the next best thing – CMC Rocks Your Yard. It’s gonna be a hoot!” adds Chugg.
The new format comes after the cancellation of CMC Rocks for a second year, due to the ongoing restrictions around mass gatherings and international travel, announced last November. Kip Moore, Miranda Lambert, Billy Currington and Brothers Osborne were just some of the big names booked in to perform alongside homegrown favourites Evans, Kernaghan and Adam Brand at the 2020 sold-out event.
CMC Rocks has been an important date on the Australian music calendar since 2008, beginning in the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales, before heading to the Hunter Valley, and then on to its home in South East Queensland. Bringing artists including The Chicks, Lady A, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Little Big Town, Kasey Musgraves, Thomas Rhett and Tim McGraw to Australia, CMC Rocks is known for attracting the highest local and international calibre talent year on year.
CMC Rocks QLD is set to return in 2022.
