Golden Guitar and CMC Award winner, Christie Lamb and her musician husband, Jonathan English have welcomed their first child in an exclusive with New Idea Magazine. Charlotte Rose English was welcomed into the world in the early hours of Saturday 20th August.
“Meeting our baby girl has made our hearts so incredibly full. We are completely in love and on cloud nine!” Christie says. “Charlotte was 18 days early and wanted to make her entrance known while we were on stage performing. Living up to her rock n’ roll roots – she decided she couldn’t wait any longer to be part of the show - arriving a couple of hours later in hospital. I went to my gig on Friday night unaware the next time we would be home, we would be a family of three.”
Charlotte is the first grandchild for Christie’s parents and the first grandchild in Jonathan’s family since the passing of his well-known musician father, Jon English, in March 2016.
The love story of Christie and Jonathan began after meeting in 2012 when Christie was chosen to be the lead female vocalist and multi-instrumentalist for Jon English’s Rock Revolution National Tour. Jonathan was also in the band as a guitarist and as they say, the rest is history!
The couple announced their pregnancy news on social media in April this year, just before the rescheduled Tamworth Country Music Festival. The couple tied the knot in Gledswood Homestead in Sydney in June, 2021, after rescheduling twice due to the pandemic.

The birth of baby Charlotte has not slowed the momentum of Christie’s successful music career with the star releasing her new album, Truth, on September 30 followed up with a tour to support the release. The album’s current single, Three Chords and A Woman’s Truth, is a powerful celebration honouring the women of country music who have inspired Christie over the years. It has already hit number one on various charts around the country.
Three Chords And A Woman’s Truth follows Beat Of My Own Drum, Up All Night featuring Timothy James Bowen and Kiss About It, all lifted from Christie's upcoming fourth album.
Described as ‘the full package’, the multi-instrumental and award-winning singer-songwriter was awarded the CMC Awards for ‘New Oz Artist of the Year’ in 2015 and ‘Female Artist of the Year’ in 2018 and was the recipient of the 2016 Golden Guitar Award for ‘New Talent of the Year.’
In 2019, she released her third studio album, Broken Lines which debuted at #1 on the iTunes Country Album Chart and #1 on the ARIA Country Album Chart. The first single Hot Hot Kiss debuted at #1 on the iTunes Country Charts. The remix also debuted at #1 on the iTunes Dance Charts, making Christie the first Australian artist to have #1 hits on both iTunes charts.
Christie has toured relentlessly with her own dates across Australia and New Zealand and is quite the regular face on the festival scene. She has been a part of national tours with Lee Kernaghan, ‘The Girls of Country’ tour with Amber Lawrence and Aleyce Simmonds, and ‘This Crazy Life’ tour with The Wolfe Brothers.
