New South Wales country singer-songwriter Chelsea Berman has made an unusual yet delightful request on Facebook, which may result in something totally wholesome.
Yesterday, Berman revealed that she’s filming a new music video this Thursday (8 February), and she needs our help. “Looking for a middle-aged man to be in a music video THIS THURSDAY in Taree 🙌🏼 2 hours max, early afternoon,” she wrote.
Taree is a historic town in the NSW Mid North Coast, providing a vibrant centre in the Manning Valley, surrounded by stunning parks and beaches along the Barrington Coast. More than 26,000 people live in Taree (per the Visit NSW website), with the Manning Entertainment Centre holding a 505-seat theatre for Australian talent to perform.
Taree is also packed with scenic views, making it the perfect place for Berman to film her next music video.

This morning, Berman responded to her post and wrote that she’s still looking for someone to star in her next video, stating that you can be “younger than middle-aged” if you’re free and keen.
Earlier this week, Berman unveiled the visualiser for her single If I Have A Daughter, a song produced by fellow Australian country star Jake Davey. To promote the single, she also put together a special video with the help of fans sending through pictures of their daughters. You can watch that here.
As well as If I Have A Daughter, Berman has recently shared the impressive tracks Break Up Again and Where Does That Leave Me?
Co-written alongside Melanie Dyer, Where Does That Leave Me? follows someone in a long-distance relationship as they ultimately put the other person’s needs above their own.
In a press release, Berman said, “Although it was tough to film such a personal and emotional video, I’m so happy with how it all came together. Jake [Davey] did an amazing job showing everything that goes through your mind when leaving a relationship.”
Last March, Berman’s song Going There had a video premiere on Countrytown.
Berman started performing at the age of eight. At 23, she has toured extensively and shared the stage with artists including Travis Collins, Brad Cox, Amber Lawrence, Kirsty Lee Akers, The Viper Creek Band, Melanie Dyer and Hurricane Fall.
