While country star Chase Rice began the album rollout for his forthcoming LP, Go Down Singin’, in May, he’s never gotten quite so personal with his fans.
Today (7 August), Rice took to social media to reveal some details about his new album, including its release date. He informed fans that it’s his first release in over ten years as an independent artist.
As well as the important news surrounding the release plan, Rice also unveiled some of the stories of the record.
“There’s a lot of different things that have happened to lead to this album, the album cover and this music,” Rice began in a candid post, stating the album title and its status as an independent release.
He continued, “All we thought about when making this music was how do we put the very best songs that I’ve got on one album. No thoughts of what’s popular right now, or what will work blow up or go viral, simply who am I and what am I best at.
“It’s got songs about the music industry and what it can do to your soul, it’s got love lost songs, it’s got a song about my dad once again, it’s even got a murder song that might be my favorite song on the album. I hope you guys love this as much as I loved making it.”

Go Down Singin’ will be released on Friday, 20 September, and is the follow-up to last year’s critically acclaimed I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell.
So far, Rice has given fans a few tastes of the new album with the singles Fireside and the title track, which were released in May and June, respectively.
The album contains four songs co-written by Lori McKenna, with the singer set to duet with Rice on track three, That Word Don’t Work No More.
Earlier this year, Rice made his third visit to Australia as part of CMC Rocks festival, appearing on the bill alongside Lainey Wilson, Tyler Hubbard, Chris Young, Oliver Anthony, Megan Moroney, and more.
Speaking about his previous album with Countrytown, Rice said, “It’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened in my career; I don’t know how to feel about it. It’s the least mainstream album I’ve ever put out, it’s the least mainstream success that I’ve had… but ticket sales are the best they’ve ever been!”
