Carly PearceCarly Pearce has sent country music fans spiralling after dropping a not so subtle hint on social media this morning, that a new duet with Riley Green is on the near horizon.
Pearce shared a teaser clip featuring the pair soundtracking a snippet of unreleased music. The video, only lasting just a few seconds, showed the pair sitting closely with glasses of wine in hand and was captioned with the line: “baby isn’t doing this the definition of insane.” That lyric alone was enough to send comment sections into meltdown, with fans immediately demanding a release date.
The teaser comes after Pearce wiped her Instagram clean this week except for a few cryptic posts, a classic move in modern rollout playbooks that usually signals something big isn’t too far away.
The timing is what’s really exciting though for Australian audiences. Both Pearce and Green are locked in to perform Friday night at CMC Rocks in Queensland with back to back sets on the two main stages. Which means Australia could very realistically become the first audience anywhere to hear the duet performed live.

Given CMC Rocks’ reputation for surprise collaborations and once-in-a-lifetime onstage moments, the stars seem to be aligning. A teased duet. Consecutive set times. A festival crowd primed for chaos. It would be iconic.
Pearce has built a career on emotionally sharp and radio ready country, while Green leans into Southern grit and throwback storytelling. If this teaser is anything to go by, the track sounds like it lives somewhere in the tension between heartbreak and heat.
No official title or release date has been confirmed, but the rollout has clearly begun. And if Friday night delivers what fans are hoping for, CMC Rocks might just witness the first chapter of country’s next big duet moment.
