The Osbourne Hotel in Brisbane (Meanjin) has announced a state of celebrations for its annual Country Month, packed with events any cowboy worth their boots would go wild (west) for.

The venue’s Country Month celebrations will run all throughout August, with a press release noting that “whether you're a die-hard country fan or just looking for a fun night out, [The Osbourne has] got something for everyone”.

Among the festivities will be the Barnyard Bingo Bash on Thursday August 13 – a reimagining of the venue’s regular Drag Queen Bingo event for the Ekka Public Holiday eve – promising “a night full of laughter, prizes, and good ol' country fun”.

There will also be Gilly’s Line Dancing held from 6-10pm every Friday night in August, with the sessions being touted as “the perfect opportunity to learn some fun dances with friends”. They’ll feature live music from the Griffin County Band, and will also be free to attend.

Beyond that, The Osbourne has partnered with Jack Daniel’s to host a contest for a customised Fender guitar. Punters will also be able to order unique whiskey cocktails tied in to Country Month.
