The Tamworth Regional Council has announced that the council will recommend the cancellation of the 2021 Tamworth Country Music Festival
The Tamworth Regional Council has announced the council will recommend the cancellation of the 2021 Tamworth Country Music Festival. The announcement came via Facebook video earlier today.
"The number one consideration is the health and well-being of our community, our industry and our fans. To that end, we are recommending that Tamworth should not proceed with the Country Music Festival in 2021." Said Tamworth Regional Council's Festival Manager, Barry Harley.
"The events industry has been thrown a severe curve ball this year with most festival and events of any size cancelled. The medical advice that we’re receiving is that it’s absolutely illegal to run a music festival."
Set to run next year for seven days starting from Thursday, January 14. A meeting next Tuesday, September 8 will decide the fate of the 2020 event.

"Meanwhile, I can assure you that the staging of the 49th Golden Guitar Awards will take place... It's important that we continue that 49 years of unchanged events, so that we can celebrate correctly the 50th in 2021." Said Harley.
